URBANA, IL, September 18, 2020 – In partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Illinois District Office, the Illinois Small Business Development Center at Champaign County EDC is pleased to announce that The Best of Africa’s Food Store has been named SBA’s Illinois Family-Owned Small Business of the Year.
Each year, the SBA honors small businesses and small business advocates across the country who are creating 21st-century jobs, driving innovation, and increasing America’s global competitiveness as part of their National Small Business Week celebration.
The Best of Africa’s Food Store, co-owned by Congolese immigrants Memoire Budimbu Mabiza and Lisette Mbaki, is the first of its kind in Champaign County and offers a wide variety of African products, including grocery items, hygiene products, kitchen supplies, and traditional African clothing.
